My love of books began early... and I still have this book!

As you can see from the picture, my love of books began very early.  I don't know that I was early in learning how to read (though my little sister began reading at 4, which back then, was a big deal) but once I learned, my world took off!  I remember being one of the few, if not the only child in my class in early elementary school to be able to use the entire library - that was a big deal!  I read just about everything I could put my hands on, and honestly, I still do!

This blog actually came to me through several different parents.  See, I'm a teacher, and I've now been teaching long enough to have complete families pass through my classroom, getting to teach most, or all of the children in that family.  Though time passes and these kids grow up, many of them still come to me for book recommendations.  Which is what brought about this blog.

My goal is to post a book a week (if not more) and while that will be easy to do during the summer, it might get trickier during the school year, but I'm going to give it a try!  As a book lover (and collector, I'll admit it!) I tend to re-read some of my favorites, it's like revisiting a favorite vacation spot, or catching up with an old friend - very comforting.  Some of the books posted will be "old friends" and some will be new acquaintances.  I tend to read through a theme, too, so you might notice patterns in my reading.  I'll be honest, I often gravitate toward books that reflect something I'm trying to figure out in my own life, so if you're reading this, please leave the judgement out of it!

Aside from reading, I love teaching.  The classroom is my second home, it fits me like a comfortable pair of sneakers - I can stand in it all day long and be ready for wherever the days adventures take me!  I also enjoy spending time with my nieces, reading (obviously), hanging with my rescue pup, photography, videography, and playing board games.  Oh, and I like pretty much anything chocolate.
